“More than a Museum” – the beautifully landscaped grounds at the Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum feature a historic village with enchanting gardens, quaint picket fences, winding pathways, and a charming pavilion with inviting picnic tables and benches. The Museum's main exhibit gallery is housed in the Williams Home, a Georgian-Revival style building from 1869 that showcases the history of Port Colborne and the Welland Canal through dynamic and diverse exhibits. In Fort Erie, uncover the stories behind four of the region's most important historical treasures, including the Fort Erie Historical Museum, Fort Erie Railway Museum, Battle of Ridgeway Heritage Park, and Mewinzha Archaeology and Indigenous History Gallery. Don't miss the chance to step back in time and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of a fort under siege at Old Fort Erie – a War of 1812 National Historic Site. Musket demonstrations and the Siege of Old Fort Erie reenactment put you in the midst of the war, portraying the struggles and the triumphs of British, American, and First Nations soldiers.

Niagara's South Coast is situated on treaty land. This land is steeped in the rich history of the First Nations such as the Hatiwendaronk, the Haudenosaunee, and the Anishinaabe, including the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. There are many First Nations, Métis and Inuit from across Turtle Island that live and work here today. Niagara's South Coast stands with all Indigenous peoples, past and present, in promoting the wise stewardship of the lands on which we live.
